๐ก Cumulative vs Payout & Compounding Frequency (Simple Explanation)
- Cumulative interest payout: The bank adds interest back to your FD. You donโt withdraw the interest regularly. You get a larger lump sum at maturity.
- Payout: The bank
to you monthly or quarterly. Your principal usually stays the same and is returned at maturity. - Quarterly interest payout: Interest is calculated and paid once every 3 months. Common for many Indian FDs.
- Monthly interest payout: Interest is paid every month. Useful if you want regular income from your FD.
- Compounding frequency: How often the bank calculates and adds interest to your balance (monthly, quarterly, yearly etc.). More frequent compounding usually means slightly higher returns.
